Martha Coakley was soundly defeated by Scott Brown in the Massachusetts senate election.

Martha Coakley kept an innocent man - Gerald Amirault - in prison to further her own political ambitions - read the stories here, here and here.
Fortunately Massachusetts came to its senses and chucked her out, declaring with their votes that she was unfit to even sniff at Teddy Kennedy's shoes.
She also learned, like Mike Nifong before her, at the cost of her Senate seat, that prosecuting innocent men for crimes they never committed is not, and will never be, the formula to gain electoral success.
